because/because of 因為

1:We won’t go to work because the typhoon is coming.

2:We won’t go to work because of the typhoon.

[a] 名詞+ Be動詞+ due to

例:The delay was due to heavy traffic.

[b] 完整句子 + due to

例: The plane was grounded due to fog.

owing to 和 because of 一樣都是介係詞。

[a] 完整句子 + owing to

例:The concert has been cancelled owing to the typhoon.

Owing to the typhoon the concert has been cancelled.

as a result of 由於

He was late as a result of the typhoon.

though

Though

Though Malta is a very small island, its history is long and rich.

Malta, though small, has a long and rich history.

Malta,

Though

Small though the island is, Malta has a long and rich history.

2. Though

E.g. “I already ate. Thanks, though!”

Speaker 1: Would you like something to drink?

Speaker 2: I’ve just had some water. Thanks, though! / I’ve just had some water. Thanks anyway!

3. Though 用來代替 however 或 but

E.g. “I do not usually drink coffee, though I’ve had 2 cups today.”

“I don’t usually drink coffee. I’ve had 2 cups today though.”

*However is a more formal way of saying ‘but’

E.g. “He acted as though he were angry.”

It looked as though it was going to rain.

It looked like it was going to rain.

need of ,need for 用法上有什麽區別

need of food 需要食物

如果在 need 前面有介詞 in, 用 need of,即 in need of, 如:We should help those in need of help.
